HONORARY CONSULATE OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND IN SURABAYA
On October 7th in Majapahit Hotel Surabaya, was held the ceremony of decoration of Fr. Tadeusz Gruca, Fr. Jozef Glinka, Fr. Stanislaw Ograbek and Fr. Stanislaw Pikor with Knight's Crosses of the Order of Polonia Restituta awarded by President of the Republic of Poland. Distinctions on behalf of President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, were given by H.E. Ambassador Tadeusz Szumowski.
The Polish SVD missionaries were conferred in recognition of their unique, more than 50 years, contribution in public service in Indonesia. Their activities refer not only to Christian community but to Muslim too. Thus they contribute to peaceful co-existence those two religious groups. In the ceremony which was organized by Polish Embassy in Jakarta with cooperation of Honorary Consul Soedomo Mergonoto took part representatives of SVD, Muslim community, local authority, media and close friends of rewarded.
